What code 807 means
Code 807 reverses a withholding credit (806) in whole or in part by posting a debit. It comes from an examination or another tax adjustment to the withholding.
Because it lowers your credits, it can shrink a refund or create a balance due. Look for a notice explaining the change.

- 806 W-2 or 1099 withholding Credit for the federal income tax withheld from your wages or other income.
- 290 Additional tax assessed The IRS adjusted the year after the return posted. A $0.00 amount means no tax change.
